When the top secret 'President's Daily Brief' lands on Barack Obama's desk each morning two words will catch
his eye, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Sometimes they will be conflated into the new buzz word in the foreign policy circles - Af-Pak.

Everyone's waiting for the new Af-Pak strategy to be announced. In US foreign policy priorities Af-Pak is rivalled only by Iran. The word is that it has been delayed due to arguments within the administration about whether to begin paying certain groups within the Taliban to stop fighting.

Another issue which needs to be signed off is the extent to which the Obama administration will extend military force inside Pakistan. There are already US special forces inside Pakistan along with personal operating the predator unmanned drones used to conduct air-strikes against targets throughout the North West Frontier. The debate raging behind closed doors is also about whether widen the air-strikes all the way down to the city of Quetta.

The Die Hard star had his closest friends at the nuptials, including his ex-wife Demi Moore and her husband Ashton Kutcher.

The former couple's daughters, Rumer, 20, Scout, 17 and Tallulah, 14, were also at the ceremony held at the actor's home in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Willis has been dating model Heming, who was raised in north London and California, for more than a year after they met through mutual friends.

Energy companies will be banned from charging "unjustified" prices under new proposals put forward by the watchdog Ofgem.

The measures are aimed at securing a fairer deal for customers dealing with energy suppliers.

Ofgem launched a consultation on the proposals following a probe into unfair pricing at the end of last year.

No evidence was found of collusion by the "big six" but Ofgem blasted energy companies for failing to slash unfair prices quickly enough.

The Peshawar police are under pressure and the Mathani police station on the outskirts of the city underlines their mountainous challenges.

We arrive the morning after they have had their latest encounter with militants.

They tell me a large crowd surrounded the police station firing mortars and rockets. The fighting had gone on for two hours.

Two overseas companies have approached Lord Mandelson's business department (Berr) about investing in the Birmingham-based firm.

The potential investors are being contacted by the Government to confirm their level of interest, a Berr spokesman said.

Shoppers appeared to turn to cheaper clothing alternatives as the credit crunch hit home during the festive period.

"Trading at Primark was strong and over Christmas was ahead of our expectations," Assocated British Foods said in a statement.

Mervyn King has agreed to continue "close dialogue" with high street banks in a bid to calm market volatility and ease the credit crunch.

The Bank of England chief's announcement came after he met representatives of the UK banking industry.

The banks demanded action to calm the marketsand wanted assurances that the BoE will provide extra financial help should it be needed.

"The Bank of England and the banks agreed to continue their close dialogue with the objective of restoring more orderly market conditions," the BoE said in a statement.

The FTSE 100 closed down 50.4 points at 5495.2 before the announcement was made.
